In this 4-week series you’ll build a strong technical foundation to support healthy, expressive singing.
Whether you’re new to singing or not, you’ll discover and practice the building blocks of healthy singing: alignment, physical release, physiologically correct breathing, and efficient resonance. Emphasis will be on both the physiology and the pleasure of singing, and we’ll use techniques from Fitzmaurice Voicework (fitzmauriceinstitute.com) and other sources.
Wear soft, comfy clothes (no belts, buckles, rivets, etc – exercise clothes work well) and layers including warm socks. You will also need a yoga mat, a zafu (dense pillow for raising the pelvis 4-6 inches during floorwork, like this: http://binged.it/1ajp5g8) and some text or song to play with during exercises. You are welcome to bring a notebook and make notes.
Cost is $100 for the series, please bring cash on the first day. Add this ‘product’ to your cart and checkout ($0) to reserve your place.
Wednesday evenings 7:30-9pm, January 8, 15, 22 and 29.
